Help me birdy! (connecting forever)

Hi
I need some help. Just like everyone else, "Connecting" forever.
here is what I can tell you

1. OS version? Windows XP Home w/ Service Pack 2
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall only, no Norton
3. How much ram? 480 Ram
4. Hard Disk space available? not entirely sure, over 60% I believe
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) broadband wireless
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? SpeedStream modem, Linksys 2.4 Ghz router 802.11b
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? condo
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.12.6, Java 1.5.0
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? AT&T
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: "You're Test Worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes. I share with two of my roomates. My computer is hooked up to DSL and router and my roomates use their wireless.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem with experienced user. Just started happening a few days ago.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, I do. firewalled.

any help you could give me would be great. I'm dying! :)

thank you so much

Might seem like a stupid question, but can your roommates connect to LW?

Have you always seen the firewall icon or has it just appeared since you haven't been able to connect?

It seems like AT&T block p2p sometimes, check out AaronWalkhouse's posts in these threads...

If it's not down to AT&T, there might be some firewall that's associated with the condo's internet. You could talk to the manager & find out if anything's changed within their setup recently.

You could try changing ports, no guarantees that it'll work. In LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to something in the range of 49152 - 65535 (say 64049). If you've got port forwarding in place for your router, you'll have to change the port forwarded to the same number.

Is there any other model number on the router (what you gave me matches a couple of routers, wireless adapter etc)?

It's not going to fix your connection problem, but you might want to update your Java...once LW's working again you'll probably find it performs better with a newer version of Java. Use the JRE offline installer here & remove your old Java version before you install the new one.

I've just realised, your first post can be read 2 ways:o
Is LW constantly connecting to the network or is LW connected but whenever you try to download a song, it sits connecting for ages & won't ever download??

If it's the second scenario...sounds like an issue with fake files. In this case, check out the threads below for info & tips.
