![]() ARGH! I have tried everything and it's not working. I've looked in the other threads and all sorts and it just won't get rid of the firewall. It had been working fine previously but all of a sudden when i opened it today, it wouldn't work. I'm using Windows XP I clicked the test link thing and that said it was fine My firewall setting is on but limewire is down as an exception and also it still doesn't work when i turn it off. I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help please? moonysgirl79 |

![]() The lowest bar is green but the wall is still up in front of the world and all the others are red. I checked out the other links and there's nothing there i can find that can help. I've restored Limewire back to default settings just incase. I really can't tell you much about my computer. I've got no idea what most of the stuff is. Im on windows xp I only have the firewall that comes with the laptop. I'm on tiscali broadband I have a modem but i'm not sure of the numbers or anything. On it, it has sagem f@st 800 E3 but i'm not sure whether that is relevant. I'm on a laptop at home. ... I went to check the version of java and limewire and all of a sudden I got a connection, but i don't know why. All the bars are green and the firewall is down. Do you know how i "fixed" it incase it happens again? I've used limewire before now and the bad signal was sudden. Thanks, Sorry to be a pain. moonysgirl79 |

![]() Tiscali are the pain, not you ![]() Heaps of people have been having problems with them lately. Some people have found changing ports helps. To do this, in LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall config. There you can change LW's listening port. Good ones to try are 49152 - 65535. Someone recently got connected after weeks of pain using port 139. If you do change ports, you'd also have to change any specific ports allowed thru a software firewall & any ports forwarded thru a router (this doesn't apply to you...your modem doesn't have a firewall, the info's more for other people who read this thread later ![]() I don't know how you 'fixed' it...connection seems to come & go at random for some Tiscali customers. If the connection goes again, read these threads. Or use the forum search to look for Tiscali. Tiscali & Limewire can't connect between 5pm-11pm I have found a solution to getting Limewire to work with Tiscali |
