I doubt it is Java it looks more like your routers firewall or the XP firewall is blocking you. First make sure it is not you XP firewall disable it and do the test you did before #11 and #12 your answers to those questions say you are being blocked by a firewall. If it isn't XP Firewall go to the Linksys support page and ask them how to fix this problem. You will probably have to configure your router to allow your computers IP addresses to limewire. The link below will take you there.

Unhappy it still did not work out

I have Mac OS tiger, I have tried all instructions (except I did not know what numbers I had to write for TCP and UDP port numbers when setting a new firewall. I put 6346 for both. read it somewhere). I tried deleting the preferences folder. But it still did not work out. I dont know what else to try. any suggestions?

OS X:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Windows:
C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Linux:
~/.limewire

Please shutdown any instance of LimeWire you may have running, delete the whole directory, and then restart LimeWire. You should be able to connect.

I'd love to hear how this works for everyone.

Thanks!
