Default Download Slow speed w/o using router

Hi guyz...I just change my internet to 6mbps and i using SB5101 USB modem [Its nt a router]... What should i do to get more download speeds as i only get around 3kb-10kb...

I dun hav a firewall and i 'off' my window firewall ..[No brick] onli 1 round Earth

512 RAM
3.0 GHZ
No Firewall
80gb
Cable 6mbps USB
Motorola SB5101
Connect from home
LW 4.12.3 PRO
Starhub Internet provider
My test worked
Alone using the internet
my 1st time using LW was i using a router n i done port forward and i get around 80kb-100kb speed..But after i changed to this modem wif no port forwarding my speed become 8kb-10kb
No Brick Wall..Only 1 round earth ^^

Your ISP Starhub are known to shape p2p....

Starhub have caused problems for other people. They're known to shape bandwidth, maybe they're doing some blocking too? Try connecting at different times of day/night. You could also change ports & see if that helps...change LW's listening port to 64049, or something in the range of 49152 - 65535.

my 1st isp is singtel.. it from good going sux =x... tht y i changed starhub haha sinces it use cable...

It also could have alot to do with the internet traffic, as suggested try connecting at different times of the day and night, when it's not so busy...
