What type of file is it? LW wont launch program files(exe's), because of the large amount of viruses being circulated around the network.

Try launching the file outside of LW, in windows. Be sure to scan it first. Also check files with bitzi before d/loading, and preview them when they get to 15%.

And just in case it's the 'file types changing' problem

Yummy_Mummy23, have a look at the extensions of your files...have they changed from whatever they were (mp3, avi etc) to zip or exe? If that's happened, you probably have a worm. If the extensions haven't changed, ignore this

Update your AV & do a scan, see if it finds a worm (Delf.ATB). Or you can try AVG Free AV...that should find it.

Download AVG, update it, scan your computer.
Search the forum & you'll see a few people have had this problem...AVG has fixed things for some

Default Still not working

Ok so I had a look at Lime wire and my files.....I'll explain it all from scratch.....
I click on the library tab then underneath saved files top left hand corner I usually click on video then my download list appear in the window but this time nothing comes up in any of the tabs only incomplete files and saved files then it says the specified file could not launch due to security reasons and then I push the explore button to open the shared folder and i right click on the episode to play it in windows media player and it opens it but says that file was corrupt during transfer even the ones that i had already downloaded from few days ago that i have watched and they worked perfectly fine.......u mentiond the avi to exe thing well when i go into library at the end of each title it has episode blah blah.avi and then when u look across to type it says exe........so i have no idea wats going on??????

Ok, it sounds like you're infected. Don't panic, just download AVG from the link I gave earlier. Make sure you update it before you scan

You have to watch the files that you download. Look at file sizes & extensions. Make sure the files you download don't have '.mp3.exe' or '.wma.exe' etc. Pay attention to file size as well...if a song or video is only hundreds of KB in size, chances are it's a nasty! Always check movie files with Bitzi before download.
How to use Bitzi
Like 6_pac said, make sure you scan files with your AV first - before you open them
