Limewire has Encountered a problem and needs to close!
 

Hi ive searched the forums but cant seem to find any problems connecting like I have , every time I click on the limewire icon to load it i get a pop up saying 'Limewire has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' below this it says please tell Microsoft about this problem and gives me the option to send an error report - the main info the error report contains is

Error signature
AppName: limewire exe AppVer: 1.0.0.2 ModName. ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.21800 Offset: 00001010

I have re-installed limewire and java and still repeatedly get this pop up message and so am completely unable to get into the program although up until this I never had any problems at all..! Can anyone shed any light? Id be really greatful!!

Try deleting your preference folder and see if that helps...
Fixes for Limewire

If that does not help can you tell me if you can get into your shared folder outside of limewire...By default you will find this folder by going to My Comp > HDD > Documents and settings > User (name) > Shared...

Can you enter that folder without getting the error message ??;)

thanks for the advice WW, have had no joy with the preference folder as I cant locate it nor can does it appear I have a shared folder!! il try deleting reinstalling limewire (again) and see if these return perhaps?

What version of LimeWire are you using ?
