![]() Today I downloaded limewire. Install went just fine. I have used Limewire on other computers in the past so I know my way around a little bit. Right now my connection meter is all red but the 1st bar. Searches come up with maybe 10 results, if any at all. My connection list, sometimes they all say connecting, sometimes they say outgoing. My windows firewall is disabled and there is no brick wall in front of the globe. I am running windows XP Speednet wireless connection with test speeds in excess of 5Mbps Linksys wireless router WRT300N, this computer is wired into the router, not wireless Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for you help! |

![]() What version of Java are you using? Try updating to Java 6. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any old Java versions before installing the new one. http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp In LW file > disconnect. Let it sit for 5 mins, now file > connect. How do you have the Linksys set up (UPnP enabled, port forwarded or neither)? I wouldn't advise you to run without a firewall, rather configure the firewall to allow LW. |

![]() I uninstalled my java 5 and did exactly as you said and installed JRE 6. Still no help. I checked my router settings (which I know nothing about) but I did find an option that said UPnP and it was selected as "enabled" Still "connecting" |

![]() If UPnP's enabled on your router, have you chosen the UPnP option within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config? Try that. Apply to save a change. Go here & see if the test works. http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ If the page can't be displayed, change LW's listening port (on the same page as the UPnP option) to 64049, or something in the range of 49152 - 65535. Try the LW Beta version (4.13.2) & see if that's any different. You can download it from the usual download page at www.limewire.com Do you have SP2? If so, have you installed a patch to increase connections? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...56&postcount=4 And last of all...even though there's no wall in front of your globe, you could try port forwarding. The instructions for your router are here. Don't forget to set up a static IP address first. http://www.portforward.com/english/r...N/Limewire.htm |
