Connection Status: Leaf? :l
 

Alright so, for the past few days, Limewires been making me pretty mad. I haven't been able to download anything because nothing shows up when i click search. Also, when i look at my connections, there are no connected hosts. For ie) each address says "connecting..." and at the top it says "Connection Status: Leaf" i have no idea what that means. and if there is anyway to change the "status" that would help the seaches.

If that doesn't help then delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 below.

This will kill all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards;)


There's no problem being connected as a leaf, providing you connect to good ultrapeers & not the crappy ones that have been causing problems for some people! You'll connect to ultrapeers to help you search & shield you from unnecessary traffic:)

Ultrapeers are people with a fast connection & whose FWs aren't firewalled. You connect to them & they in turn connect to other UPs & leafs...that's how your searches work. The network will connect you as an ultrapeer (if you have a fast enough connection & aren't firewalled) when there's the need.

It's still not working. :l whenever i do the search thing, and i search for "limewire" or w/e, i can't get the right file name. and deleting the hosts didn't work. is there anything else i can do?

Delete LW's preferences folder, you'll have to make sure to show hidden files & folders to be able to find the prefs folder. Make sure LW's properly closed first.
