Thumbs up RE: RE: Older Peeps Can Be Ignorant Too

Thanks for the compliment on my post, I really appreciate it.
It's ok - you're entitled to be upset about this version of Limewire, many people are. I just wanted to let people know that their money wasn't so much of a purchase as it was a contribution to the future of thew Gnutella Network.

I fully 100% agree that bandwidth is very precious for a 56k connection (I have one too - hey, I can't complain - if my parents could afford more I would, but I wont ). One great benefit from 'Ultrapeer' for us analogue users is that you never have to shut off your connection to the network when downloading to get every extra bit of data per second and you never have your 'Clear To Send' light on your modem go out because of congestion.

I'm happy with the new advance because I sifted through some unpleasant, some abusive and some down right nasty posts for the information on Ultrapeer. I realize the bugs aren't all out of it yet, but I also realize that once Ultrapeer becomes standard - the network will function as well as (or better) than the Napster Network once did. I cannot wait for that day to come, but I guess I'll have to. In the mean time, I'm happy for the developers to do whatever they think is necessary to ensure the wellbeing of the network. I paid my 'donation/purchas' and no matter what, I will never ask for it back.

I'm not asking people to shut up about what is wrong with Limewire, I'm just begging them to be informed about it (Limewire Developers - that's where you come in to it!) and to try and be constructive about their criticism. As I said, Limewire (and the Gnutella Network) WILL get better, but only if WE let it...
