The first thing I'd suggest is look at what Java version you're using. In LW help > about will show you. If you're using Java 1.6.0_01, try reinstalling this older version (a few people have had trouble with the latest Java). Use the JRE offline installer & remove your original Java before installing this other one.

If you're using Vista, you'll have to run Java 1.6. In that case, reinstall 1.6.0_01. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your original Java before reinstalling.

its dave here i tried everything and nothing worked then i seen a message that said be one of the first to try limewire version 4.13.4 (beta) so i downloaded it , guess what it works, so to all those that have given up hope of your limewire ever working again i would say to give the new version a try.

Finally I have fixed my problem with the connection. I think its just a matter of luck. I have tried EVERYTHING suggested here, and by chance it works now. I finally uninstalled laimewire and reinstalled it, and to my surprise, it works. Good luck
