security problem Go to my computer and open and double click on hard drive(c) and open program files. and locate and open the limewire file. Now locate and open the "limewire executable jar file". limewire should now open. you should see a security alert "java tm platform SE binary has blocked certain...aspects of limewire"...just click on unblock. If your problem was the same as mine , your problems should now be over. rev. |

You can try these fixes... Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...ng-should.html LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

What Worked for Me You are an angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had trouble for months and it was such a simple solution!!! Everyone should try this first! (the whole jar executable file thing) I reposted this solution on some other threads cause it's such an easy thing to check! (start with the cheapest/easiest solutions first right?) For us simpletons on windows xp: In windows (I have XP) Go to Start My Computer Click c: Click Program File Click the file that says limewire find a file name in that folder that says limewire.jar (and under it says executable jar file it has a picture of a java coffee cup, at least mine does, about 7007kb) click that once or twice (c:\program files\limewire) Once I clicked on that, i went through the short setup language thing again and it worked fine!!!! Don't know what'll happen when i shut down again of course, so i'm cramming in some downloads now! I just made a shortcut of that file to my desktop. Oh ya, I heard it helps if you disable the "start limewire at startup option" from another thread. Thank you so so much!!! Last edited by fivekitten; May 9th, 2007 at 02:45 PM.
