Can't Connect At All
 

I downloaded LW4.12.11 and did use it several times. Now all of a sudden it won't come up when I click on it on desktop. Here are answers to your questions (I'm not too computer saavy.):
1. WindowsXP, Home Ed.

Try deleting your preference folder...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

If it still won't open uninstall Java from the add/remove programs and re-install Java JRE 5.11 using the offline installer (4th one down)....
