Won't connect anymore....
 

Hello, please can someone help me, i use Limewire for ages and suddenly it wouldn't work anymore, the world icon has the brick wall in front of it. I have closed or turned off all my firewalls. Occasionally it will work for a short while but soon returns to not working. I upgraded to Pro and it worked at first then stopped again. :(

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Microsoft XP Professional v.2002 service pack 2.
2. What firewalls you have? Zonealarm (tried to configure to accept all limewire bits and pieces but still didn't work so now have it turned off) AVG anti-spyware (turned off) XP firewall (turned off)
3. How much ram? 320MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 2.76GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Intel(R) 536EP V.92 Modem (Sorry about this but don't even know what a router is?!)
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW Pro 4.12.11 Java 1.5.0_11
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Homecall
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Not that i know of, definitely with no other computers, no other P2Ps that i know of....
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem with experienced user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes indeedly

I would really appreiciate any help i can get with this. Also i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, deleting the .limewire folder and turning off tips of the day.

I am just being sceptical but there seem to be lots & lots and lots of experienced users suddenly having the same problem!
I have had a response from the support team who have suggested I remove JAVA and Limewire which I have done and still nothing!
Is there a problem which is Limewire related and not user??
Any limewire/administrator who can answer? Please

i just got java 5.11 which is recommended and still no joy. i really want it to work, especially since i paid for pro!
Don't know what the problems are, but hope they can be sorted soon!

It has been driving me mad. My husband says he connected and downloaded a track this morning but I have had no success connecting for days. I think he was fibbing to me.
I really hope they sort it soon.
I am a little dissapointed that no one official has responded yet though!

Same with me, nthing changed on my PC, java had updated itself to 6.0 or something, and it kept limewire working for about a week. I was on limewire in the morning, disconned, shut down pc and went out for some lunch, came back, went to turn limewire back on (this is only maybe 3 hours later) and it never loads up. The Limewire box appears in the middle of the screen and never loads up limewire.

I have tried the fixes for limewire (the deleting settings folders etc. which did work for me last time, but that was after i had updated limewire which caused it to break) and nothing, still won't load.

This makes me think it's maybe a problem with limewire server or something, i dunno, but im interested to find out and get it working again :)

Just tried again (hoping in vain i think) and still no luck. This is stupid, like Susie and Scott said, too many people are having the same problems for no apparent reason for this to be coincidence. Surely not everyone's computers are the problems, it must be something up with limewire.

So annoying :(

Edit: By the way, i asked someone and apparently i don't use a router.

Well, looks like no one knows what to do. Seems like i may have wasted my money by getting pro. oh well.

Hey everyone, i have been lurking around the board now and again and decided to finally join. I see im not the only one who is having trouble connecting to limewire. I tried frostwire as well and the same thing happened so i think its on the other end of limewire, as in not OUR side lol just my opinion though

Have you tried all of the fixes here (lots to try)? If LW Will Not Connect

If nothing there helps, you need to post back with your system details:)
