SWORNNME69 Hi man.

Yes now jre-1.5.12 is out & running fine, so choose that one.

If that don't fix things, I would do a complete clean sweep.

Follow these instructions exactly.
So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions.
Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW
Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/
& make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked)

Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search.
Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything)
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer
LimeWire
If you need help, Shout, If it fixed your problem or not, Feedback helps others.
Peace

I'm having a similar problem to Sworn, if not the same one. My connection strength is always full, I can search and plenty of results come up, but whenever I attempt to download, I always get "Need More Sources".

This must be related to a firewall, as the firewall status always shows the brick wall for me. I've done everything on this thread, including creating a static IP and configuring my router, and i just did the entire clean sweep as described in your most previous post (Mickjapa). So any other ideas on what my problem may be? Thanks a bunch, if you need any additional information please ask.

-TF

Ah, also, I've been checking a number of threads regarding this issue, but I decided to post on this one as your answers seem to be on the money and helpful. So on another note, I also did the bug report test shown at http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...757#post103757 and my result was:

Recieved incoming this session: false

According to Grandpa's post at http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...cted-slow.html this means I have a firewall problem for sure, hope this helps, later,

Hi Tom
Received incoming this session: false....thats helpful
Sorry about the repeat Q's.

System details - help us to help you Please.

Recently there's been a problem with people not providing enough details about their setup - despite being asked again & again.
So let's make it easy for everyone...the details that we need if we're going to be able to help with complex problems are:

Cut n paste Just these Questions, put your answers in bold text Thank You.

1. what OS version (eg: Windows 98, XP,OSX, Vista) ?
2. What firewalls you have ?
3. How much ram ?
4. Hard Disk space available ?
5. Connection type (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) ?
6.Modem what brand name & model numbers ?
7.Router brand name & model numbers ?
8. Where are you trying to connect from (house, apartment complex, school, student accommodation, work, etc.) ?
9. What version,LimeWire & Java, are you using. Go to L/W's Help/About L/W, THIS show both LW & Java version.?
10. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider) ?
11. Do this test click here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ should say 'Your test worked!. What happens ?
12. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
13. Is this your 1st try at LW, or is this a new problem with an experienced user.?
14. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface ?
15. Have you given full permissions for LimeWire to pass through your Firewall ?
16. XP users, Please state XP firewall on or off.?
17. In Start & remove Programs, Is this update Installed, "Security Update for Windows XP (KB931261)" ?
If Windows Updates are not seen, Tick the box at top of page, (show updates)
18. Are you using Manual Port faward in LimeWire OR UPnP ?
You can check HERE, IN LimeWire Go, Tools/options/advanced/firewall Config

This information can be vital
For instance, some ISPs are known for blocking p2p/throttling bandwidth,
some connection devices are known for being unreliable in certain situations.

So please, help us to help you & provide as much info as you can.
If you're new to LW or new to computers & aren't sure how to answer some questions,
or don't know what an ISP or router is - just say so. Nobody's going to yell at you:wink:
Even if you can't answer all the questions in one go...don't worry. Do the best you can & we'll take it from there.

SWORNNME69 Hi.
I Can only say give your ISP SPEEDNET a ring, they are apparently shaping P2P traffic in the day time, click on this link for more info.
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/272360-post101.html

Try connecting at other times of day.
Peace.
