Dear mickjapa108,

I am also having trouble connecting I've tried almost everything with the exception to "clean sweep". I currently have 1600 songs in my library and would really perfer not to lose them all, is the a way I can clean up and not lose all my songs?

Hi Anniel.

Moving L/W Shared Folder
LimeWire's shared folder is the subject for attack by hackers n the like.
What I have done, & many others do, is make a folder with a name that has
no relation to sharing, or L/W (Henry's Groove) or something obscure. On another drive, then point L/W to it.
To do this Go to Start/My Computer, Double click a drive D,E,F,G or whatever, Right click, choose New folder, name it, Then with L/W closed, Go to L/W shared, cut & paste your files to the new folder.
Now! Open L/W Go, Tools/Options/Sharing/ADD,click on, look in, bar and navigate to your new folder. Highlight it and press select
Now! Open L/W Go, Tools/Options/Saving/Browse,click on, look in, bar and navigate to your new folder. Highlight it and press select.
You can make separate folders for Film,Music,Pic's n whatever you want,Just
ADD new & repete.
Peace.

I am having the same problem as Tom. I connect fine, often "Turbo Charged" and I pull up lots of searches but no matter what I try and dowload, be it movie, video or music, it will always do the "need more sources","connecting" loop and never dowload. Also, Limewire indicates I have a firewall but I have Windows Firewall turned off and uninstalled AVG. I have a router I'm connecting to wirelessly and I have the listen and manual ports (which are identical, 51821) forwarded in the router. I've also deleted the ultapeers in >connetions many times incase I'm getting fake files but that didn't help anything. I even upgraded to PRO but that didn't help anything. Heres my information:

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP Pro SP2
2. What firewalls you have? Windows (Turned off)
3. How much ram? 1gb
4. Hard Disk space available? 2.49gb of 90gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.12.3, Java 1.5.0_06
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Cable One
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked!!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I also have uTorrent installed and running always. Tried closing uTorrent once but no change.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First time
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I am port forwarding and UPnP is enabled.
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall I had AVG but have uninstalled it.
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA

Default Version 4.14.2 has bugs

Hi i was using limewire beta version 4.13 with no problems and now i just download 4.14.2 and it wont even connect to the network. I am using windows vista ultimate (32bit) i have 1G Ram core duo processor with each core at 1.66, my firewall program is zonealarm (witch i have allowed liwewire from it) my internet connection is dsl (from a usb modem)... Oh and i just checked the running processes on the task manager and it has 3 processes of limewire running even though i have shut done the program(Its not running minimized and its not on the toolbar at the notification area next to the clock) So can someone plz tell me why the beta version 4.13 had no problems and now 4.14.2 wont even connect to the network? I have included a picture that shows 3 processes of limewire running even though the program has been closed. P.S. i dont have a virus just in case anyone thinks this is why its happening, because i just formated my pc and re-installed windows. Oh and my version of java is 6 update 2. Someone plz help. thanks
