Default connection limited

Hi, I have had Limewire on my XP system for over a year with no problem. It suddenly stopped connecting last week. I have been through all the usual processes to rectify this as suggested on the Limewire website but nothing works. The odd thing is that I have several user accounts on my computer and the same Limewire works on all of them - just not on mine. Therefore it cannot be the firewall or the isp or the wirelass system or the antivirus/adware programmes because they are the same for all accounts. I believe it must be either a virus on my account or a conflicting programme. I am not sure what programme it could be though so if anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful if they could make them. Have run hijack this but nothing showed up. I do have a problem with some spyware which keeps hijacking my internet and spyware doctor told me I had virtumonde but all the other programmes said I didn't. Not sure if this is pertainent.
