I dont have a firewall up. running windows vista. what could the problem be? |
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows Vista Home Premium 2. What firewalls you have? Windows and Norton 3. How much ram? 2 gigs 4. Hard Disk space available? 140 gigs 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) broadband wireless 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? no idea 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? hotel 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? i have no idea... |
See my comments here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-download.html Also, it would be good if you can find the brand name & model of your router. |
ok... i disabled windows firewall alltogether... and no one here knows the brand name or model of the router, but earlier tonite there was a lady working down there who told me i should be having no problem connecting to limewire. the problem is on my end. |
If you have disabled windows firewall then restart LW to see if the brickwall goes away. Otherwise the problem looks like your modem/router. Oh I forgot to double-check, see if you can find who your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is. Oh ok I just did a quick check, your ip shows as being under: EXTENDED STAY HOTELS INC ISP. If that's the case it might be due to them. Hotels I have heard of often block p2p programs. They basically only want their customers to browse, not use heavy amounts of bandwidth. But I might be wrong in your case. |
disabled wndows firewall and have allowed access to limewire within norton... restarted limewire, brick wall is still there... i dunno... i was told i should not have a problem connecting to limewire, that the problem is on my end... you pay 5 dollars a day to use the internet at extended stays... |
