Default Won't connect on Friday's - Gremlins?

Limewire seems to like certain days of the week better than others. Fridays it like to take a break. All week I have instant connect to the network with no problems. Today is Friday and I can't get a connect. I've read through lots of posts and none seem to help my situtation. Anybody out there having the same inconsistent connection problems? Is Limewire dependent on any spyware? I quarantined some spyware today.

I should add that I use Limewire Pro, Norton Internet Security, Windows XP home edition and my internet provider is Shaw Cable. Windows firewall is off and Norton is configured to allow Limewire.

LimeWire is dependent on your ISP (SHAW Cable) Who appear to be shaping P2P traffic in peak periods of use. Problems like you are having have nothing to do with LimeWire it is your ISP that is causing you the problems.

I called Shaw and spent some time with a tech who also uses Limewire. Not a Shaw problem - checked connection and speed - all good. and I don't do heavy downloads. It appears Limewire is detecting a firewall on my computer where there is none. XP firewall turned off. Limewire is "permitted always" with Norton Security. Even turned Norton firewall off temporarily. Nada! Any more ideas?

You might find the link below interesting. Shaw has been known to shape P2P traffic before. If you only run into the problems on certain days and times then they are shaping. Whether they admit it or not.
