Its all been said really,

Don't use Limewire's Default ports some ISPs block them.
Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000
Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number
In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward.

If you are using a router to connect, that will also need configuring.
Find your router listed here, Use this blue link. & dont forget to create a static IP first, & click apply after changing each setting.
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
Your Servant,
Peace.

Static IP already done (for bittorrent), manual port forwarding in limewire done, ports forwarded on router, have already done this previously for bitorrent so yes, I know what Im doing!

Still no joy!!:bangh: I guess it must be my ISP

I know its crazy, but if you can still use search, Find the files you want in the day, then set L/W to download through the night.
Ring your ISP to clarify when is there peak time, its often different
One other thing, roll back your java to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12 the new one is not working for many.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.
Fingers crossed,
Peace.

Remember, Pipex & Homecall are all owned by a parent company called Tiscali. And all such users from all of these ISP's have been having same problem at some point or other. Tiscali has been doing this for a number of years. And as they get bigger and bigger they buy up more & more smaller ISP's.

Anyway, job done, thanks again:aweof::super::xirokrotima::PEACE:

Nice one!!
I wonder if the 'Java' thing would work on a Mac?

mickjapa108 June 15th, 2007 06:27 AM

androskemlos Hi.

Lotr is the man for Mac's
Just make sure the java is for your particular Mac version, (compatibility)
& don't forget to uninstall all old versions of java first.
Peace.

I have been pulling my hair out over this problem for ages now so I am delighted to finally get it resolved.

I am with Homecall, but I followed the advice given on here and entered the manual port 64049 and my problem is solved (touch wood).

Thanks peeps!
