Hi badass.

Start from scratch with a clean sweep, Then portfaward your router.

Sounds like things have become jumbled.

Follow these instructions exactly.
So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions.
Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW
Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/
& make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked)

Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search.
Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything)
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer
LimeWire

Now badass
Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000
Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number
In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward.

Then Port forward your router,

Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G
Follow this link it will open on the page you need to PortForward your router.
Use this blue link. & don't forget to create a static IP first, as instructed , & click apply after changing each setting.

I am in different timezone so it may take me a while to reply. Sorry.

mickjapa108 June 20th, 2007 01:38 AM

You are just not telling us whats happening, Did you follow my instructions on clean install exactly ?
were there any problems ?
Did you manage to portfaward your router ?

Try giving Cox a ring

6. Cox is known to filter p2p. Apparently they don't apply it to all people within any area, but more-so individuals.
click on this blue link it will explain.

I followed your instructions on install exactly and when it was done loading it to my computer, I opened it up and the limewire setup came up the screen became diluted. I had no problems downloading everything. When I finished limewire setup the loading screen came up and it didn't open up limewire it just went back to the normal un-diluted screen. limewire didn't show up in my system tray. I didn't know whether I should port forward it or not.

Same Problem

I've been using limewire for 2 years now with no problem until recently. The problem Badass is describing is EXACTLY like mine. I have followed your instructions too and still no luck.

Hi Badass.
You say.
"the screen became diluted", I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean by this.
Can you explain for us, thanks.

What happened when you phoned your ISP Cox ?

Last point you really should Port forward your router, they give step by step instructions.

Can't get into limewire to be able to do that. Diluted because the screen icons and task bar changed color to lighter blue and the recycle bin changed apperence completly.
