firewall problems

I am also having connection/firewall problems. My leaf connections keep getting kicked off for some reason. I have tried several things (mostly over my head) but nothing works.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) WINXP
2. What firewalls you have? WIN XP and Trend Micro PC-Cillin...both turner off
3. How much ram?not sure-bunch
4. Hard Disk space available?a lot-many gigs
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?modem Arris model CM450A router Dell truemobil 2300 model WX-5565D
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.12.15 PRO JAVA 1.6.0_01
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Classicnet.net
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I have a router hooked up to my computer and share internet with 1 or 2 other computers
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I have used the free version before. It seems like it only works when I delete the program and reinstall it. But only sometimes
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, win firewall is off and Micro Trend PCillin is off

Have things just stopped working since you upgraded to Pro? Make sure that your XP firewall's off & then configure PC-Cillin to allow LW.

Next, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

Try port forwarding for your router, the instructions are here.
Port Forwarding for the Dell TrueMobile 2300
Don't forget to set up a static IP address first, you'll also need to follow the MAC Address link in those instructions.
LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router all have to be the same number.

Did you update your Java version when you upgraded to Pro? If you did & haven't been able to connect since installing 1.6.0_01, try using this older Java (some people have had probs with 1.6.0_01 & some can use it just fine). Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.
