I want to use this program, but can't without connecting!

Ok...so i've installed this stupid program, but I CAN'T CONNECT!!!!!! I've tried running my internet at the same time, but i shouldn't have to because i use a TCP/IP connection here at school. So I don't even know what "speed" to use...i don't think it's a modem, but i'm not sure that it's cable either...i have an imac...i just want this to run!!! Help if you can pleeeeeeeeease!

I don't know if this will help you--but I was finally able to connect after shutting down and restarting my computer. :)

how to get through firewalls?

think my problems might be the reult of my being behind a firewall and linked up to the net via a university network. anyone know how I can overcome this? sounds to me like our college friend may have the same problem.
