![]() I've been a longtime Limewire user, but suddenly my connection stopped working. I would love to be able to figure this out, and hope someone has some idea of what I can do. I've spent a few hours trying to figure this out and it's getting pretty frustrating. 1. OS version? Windows XP 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall 3. How much ram? 1G 4. Hard Disk space available? 120G 5. Connection type? DSL 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Modem: Speedstream 5100 Router: Linksys 7. Where are you trying to connect from House 8. What version of LimeWire 4.12.11 Pro 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? AT&T 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: It works 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? I have a router that I use so I share the connection sometimes with my laptop. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Limewire had always worked for me until it just stopped. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Currently port forwarding, I've been trying the proxy thing since UPnP didn't work either. 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall Norton Antivirus but it doesn't have a firewall. 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA Last edited by adam2007; July 31st, 2007 at 11:06 PM. |
