Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

![]() Geez, the old version ALWAYS worked! I'm not feeling the love here, people. Please help! 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Home XP 2. What firewalls you have? Windows 3. How much ram? 512 4. Hard Disk space available? 40 gig 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Westell 327W 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.14.8, 1.5.0_11 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Verizon 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "IE can't access the internet" 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Used previous versions for years ![]() 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? N/A 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall ![]() 16. What country are you living in? ![]() You need to portforward your router, but in order for that to work you'll need to set up a static ip first: PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall. Then portforward your router: Port Forwarding for the Westell Versalink 327W Manual port forward instructions & sample image. IE sucks, try Firefox.

![]() 6_pac, When I opened the ipconfig/all, the IP address was alpha, not numeric?! I'm not at my home comp, so by memory it was something like ffff.ffff.ffff.fffd%5, and I didn't see any #'s for the DNS. Now, when I went into network connections, I did see the IP address & Subnet Mask #'s like in the example you sent. Is this normal? Thanx for the help! frogboy |
