the java fix didnt work for me. the deleting preferences didnt work for me......so i uninstalled LW and REBOOTED before installing a fresh copy of LW. seems to be up and running now. Thanks to all who offered advice :-)

Uninstalling via add/remove programs can cause problems & people end up having to search their computer to remove leftovers. The correct way to remove LW is either to install a new version (automatically removes the old one) or start > all programs > limewire & use the uninstall option from there

ohh ok i though you could do it eather way but i done it that way and it dident cause any problems but how do i get the old stuff off my computer i thought there was remnets from doing but i got ccleaner and i thought it got rid of leftover stuff.
