Connecting

Hi, I have limewire years and I have been using it my laptop for the past 3 years and now when I installed the latest version of limewire I cant connect! I have tried everything, i.e. turning off my firewall to see if I can connect, turning off Nortan Anti virus! I have also un-installed it many of time and re-installed but with no luck

1. OS version: Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have: Windows Firewall only which has an
exception for Limewire
3. How much ram? 1gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 50 GB
5. Connection type? wireless
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
Rputer-Linksys 802.11g
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.14.8 Java 1.6.0_02
9. Who is your ISP provider ?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It said "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Im experienced user but first big issue
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, however the only firewall I have is from the
operating system. And as I said, I put in an exception for LW

Try these fixes...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...

Problems for everyone

What is going on with Limewire? I too am having no luck getting LW to work. It's been two years and I just set my computer up again. I had the older version of LW Pro and it worked all night Tuesday and I went to try to get on Wednesday night and all I was getting was one bar. I have read all the ways everyone has suggested how to resolve the issue but after two hours still nothing had happened. At one point LW Briefly worked until I downloaded the newest version of LW Pro and again it doesn't work even after I have added LW Pro to the exceptions on my Windows 2000 Firewall and I have disabled McAffees Security center and still nothing. Please help and very fustrated person, I would appreciate any help if any other solutions are available. Thanks.
