Default Connection Issues

Hello there. I am convinced that Limewire must be doing something to block my computer name or Mac Address from connecting as it can be nothing else as I have tried everything!!!

I uninstalled Norton and left it off of my system, I diasbled my Windows XP Pro Firewall I disconnected my Router and went straight from the modem to the computer directly, and no dice!!! My laptop in the same environment works with the firewall on and Norton installed. I have uninstalled Limewire, hacked out all registry keys, deleted limewire folder, etc. I finally reformatted the hard drive and installed Windows XP Pro with no firewall and directly to the modem with NO other software and it still gets nothing on the connection screen. No ports, data transfer rate, etc. I even disconnected the router, cable modem, etc. and tried my dial up 56K modem and it Limewire still would not connect. Arrrgggg!!!!!!!

My question is....why would my laptop work in my home network environment but not my desktop when Windows is the only thing on the system?

Limewire must look at computer names and if it thinks it may be a server or sort, it must automatcially block it some how. Can this be removed????
Hellllpppp!!!!!!!

My system is as follows: Windows XP pro, Intel Core 2 Quad, 4 gigs of ram, 2 qty 750 gig H/D, 2 Dual Layer DVD Burners, Xion Illuminted case, 512 Meg Video Card.
