You don't say which Java you're using...I don't know which version's best for OSX...you could use the forum search to check that out, or see if this helps.
Setting up Java 1.5

When you set up port forwarding, did you make sure to set up a static IP address first? You'll need to. Check out these instructions for your router, there's a link to static IP info there. Just go through those instructions & double check your setup.
Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54GS

You don't have to forward the whole range of ports, just choose one (64049 is one that heaps of people use, but others are fine). Ports in that higher range are recommended because they're sometimes the ones not being blocked by ISPs. I've always used the default port myself.
So I set up the static IP address. DO I need to port forward with this new static ip address? I also checked and the Java was correct.
Do I need to restart my computer or anything? Thank you.

Yes, you'll need port forward with the new static IP address. Make sure that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router are all the same number.

Check the port forward instructions to see whether you have to save & reboot. If LW doesn't connect or the brick wall icon doesn't go away, restart your comp & see how it goes after that.

OK, I did all this and still see that lovely brick wall. Sigh ... If you have any other ideas for me, let me know. otherwise I will search the mac section.

Have a look through the Mac sections. Do you have the OS X firewall turned off? If you want to post in the Mac section, add a link to this thread in your post...that way people can see what you've done so far.

Use your computer's search to look for a folder called LimeWire (exactly as it looks here, with capital L & W)...what shows up?
For anyone else reading: DJ C Blizzard can't find a LimeWire folder within Application Data (App Data not hidden).

Roadrunner are known to shape bandwidth...
[TWC] TW Officially Announces Packet Shaping for All RR Users - dslreports.com
...since your port test fails maybe they're blocking you. Did you try changing ports? Have you tried any other p2p apps?

Did you ever change ports? Did you search your computer (search all files & folders) for a LimeWire folder?
1 bar?-limewire.jpg

It's got me stuffed why you can't find it within App Data.
