Default connecting to network problems

can anyone help me?? ive had LM before and it worked fine but i had to do a system recovery n lost it, i have installed LM again but now everytime i try to search for something this message pops up "limewire is connecting to your network, your search result may not return many results to you are fully connected" it doesnt matter how long i wait in between searches it still comes up n dont know what to do!! any help at all would be amazin!!

Make sure that you're only using 1 software firewall (more than 1 will cause problems) & that LW's being allowed through it.

Try the advice here: all of a sudden will not connect (a fix to try)
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder & changing Java versions.
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed.
If you get confused with deleting the preferences folder, have a look at this post (Windows XP).
One bar, connection problems

Default still a little stuck

hey thanks for the advice im still a little stuck thou ive got as far as the copy n paste of the gnutella.net file but when i go to paste it in the limewire folder it says Error copying file or folder : cannot copy ntuster, it is being used by another person or program even though i havent got anything else open n i dont know what to do also not to sure how i would download LW offline could you tell me how to do this. thanks

hey birdy,

im havin the exact problem as wastkid, had limewire worked perfectly, did the restore, and now its the one bar problem like everyone else, ive uninstalled and reinstalled like 5 times, same with java and still everytime i have the one bar, also ive took off my firewalls and made limewire an exception.

Default Problems Connecting

First time user, so hello to all!
I am a very naive user. But I do not appear to be connecting I have never received any results from searches. I appear to have uploaded shareable files from my PC, but cannot confirm that! Naive not quite the word. Can anyone help?
