Not connecting Well i have tested limewire on two computers, both directly connected to my modem. Both have Windows XP, and I have used limewire before without any problems. When i open limewire the connection bar stays at one and i can't search anything, but I believe that either: My ISP may be blocking the port That there is a setting on my computers, possibly, because one is brand new and one just had the HD wiped and OS reinstalled Any suggestions appreciated!:) |
Okay this is very easy to fix, STEP 1. shut down limewire STEP 2. DO NOT delete with your preferences folder, instead only delete gnutella.net file from that folder if your having this problem it should only be 1kb in size. STEP 3. download zSHARE - gnutella.net (this is your new gnutella.net file) STEP 4. put the new gnutella.net file in your preferences folder (notice it is around 20kb in size) STEP 5. restart computer, start limewire (if it doesn't connect right away, wait a couple of minutes) let me know if this fixes the problem. |
I went to the installation path of limewire (C:\Program Files\LimeWire) but i didn't see either of the folders you named, only .NetworkShare lib root I looked through those folders also but didn't see what you were talking about... |
