Firewall help... Hi This is such a bimbo question but I need to ask it...:o Just got my pc back from the doctors hes installed a new firewall, but I need to find out where it is so I can allow LW access.... Yes I do have my little brick wall up, prior to this bit of tech genius my doctor has bought into my life, my LW was fine. Don't know the name of the firewall or any other details of it (sorry...! :o) Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance  |
Hi kat3 - not a problem -- look down the bottom right corner of your computer -- you will see these little icons and they are in what is called a system tray -- you should see your internet connection - antivirus program - email - firewall etc -- put your cursor onto these icons and you will get a box with a little description of that icon/software program.right click on it and it will open that program |
Thanks for replying Skyline! :laugh_2: Yes, that would be easy ;) but alas there is no firewall icons in my sys. tray... Where to from here? Thanks again for your early assistance! Kat |
kat3 - is your operating system windows xp sp2 if so click on start (bottom left) - click on All Programs - a list of all your software will be shown -- as you don't know what firewall the pc doctor downloaded onto your computer -- here's a list of some firewall names to help you:-Agnitum, Comodo, Sunbelt Kerio, Sygate, Zone Alarm - just to name a few -- Once you find it -- start it -- then configure it Let me know how you get on |
