What OS do you have?
What kind of firewall are you using?

Hello. I'm new to this forum as well and have the exact same problem as the first poster.

I have a Windows XP system. As far as firewall: its just the regular Windows Firewall system under the control panel.

I've already checked and re-checked the settings, allowed the exception for the program, un-installed and re-installed the entire program and still am being blocked by a firewall.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem as joeyhimself. I am using Windows XP but the Windows firewall is disabled. I am using the latest Norton software and the new Limewire is on the allowed list. I did get to use LW yesterday after I renewed subscription, but today it will not connect and the firewall symbol is up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am a new member here, and I am having the same problem also. I cant get the firewall down. I have had a computer tech out to my house and he couldnt figure it out either. We tried to add the port to my system, we tried deleting the Only security program that I have on my system and we tried to add the site as "allowed" to my system...Nothing is working. Maybe if we are all having the same issue, it is the program being downloaded from limewire? Just a thought.

I'm using Windows XP Pro and I have the same problem. LW worked fine on this computer up until a few days ago. Now it says it's detected a firewall and won't connect. Only got one green bar and the brick wall is up. Even after I disabled my firewall and restarted LW. Any idea whats goin on?

I have the same problem. Shows a firewall blocking access ,but my security program is allowing limewire. I agree with mminnick32. If we are all having the same problem it must be with the limewire program.
