Exclamation

Submitted a bug report to Gnutella. Hopefully this will help.

Unbelievable, I completely remove LimeWire from my system, restart, run Disk Cleanup, my registry cleaner, and defragmenter, then install the beta and it still is stuck at one out of five connection lights.

Pathetic...

I am getting the same problem of loading international support. I didn't have this problem with the free Limewire, only after I upgraded to pro. I have Vista Ultimate, and Zonealarm. I uninstalled LW, and re-installed it, still the same problem.

Default Tried everything y'all said, but still no connection

I've tried everything - deleting the preferences folder, replacing the gnutella.net file, even uninstalling and reinstalling Limewire, but I give up. I'm close to uninstalling Limewire - period. Before I do that, can someone help? My system details are:

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows and McAfee Security Center
3. How much ram? 228GB
4. Hard Disk space available? 210GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? dunno.....
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.16.2 Java 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? TSTT
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First try
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample image Yes, but exceptions have been made in both the Windows firewall and the McAfee Security Center firewall
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I believe my UPnP is enabled
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall McAfee Security Center
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). Trinidad & Tobago

I hope the information provided is enough to help me. I'll be checking back regularly for a response.

Thanks!

Thumbs up A kind of solution ....

Since I haven't heard from anyone about a solution to my connection problem with the latest Limewire version, I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to be able to get it working so, to save my sanity, I have removed that version of limewire & the latest java version and downloaded older versions of both from oldversion.com. It may not be the best, and I can't get all the 'help' functions to work, but at least I can enjoy lots of hits for all the titles that I search. Good luck to all with the latest versions.

I sadly found out what the problem was. It is ZoneAlarm. When I uninstalled ZA and used Windows Firewall instead, I got a full connection.

It's too bad though. I loved ZoneAlarm. But Gnutella had to wreck everything by rendering it uncompatable with the ZoneAlarm Firewall.

I fixed the problem! ZoneAlarm WILL work with LimeWire. To see how I did it, click the link in my signature.

Unhappy Unable to Connect

I am using Windows XP. I had Limewire installed and working while using Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Anti-Hacker. After running an update I was no longer able to connect to Limewire (Indicator at bottom of screen constantly says "Starting Connection). I ahve since removed Kaspersky from my PC, but am still unable to have it connect. If anyone can help me, please e-mail me. Thank you.
