I finally got connected
 

I downloaded 4.16 and could not connect, I tried everything, Uninstall reinstall, windows firewall off deleted my anti-virus(avg free), disconnected from my router and went direct to my modem (I used the modem software to to off the modem firewall) and limewire was still showing a firewall, I tried manually configuring port and addresses but nothing working.
The solution was so simple that it made me mad.
I went to the modems setup on the internet( you know 192.168.blah.blah)
The firewall at the server end was not off, it was still set to medium, I turned it off there and now limewire works like a charm.

Also I never had this problem with any other version of limewire
