![]() First and foremost... 1. Windows XP Pro Build 2600 SP2 2. Only windows firewall and Avast! resident protection, both of which were turned off. 3. 512 MB RAM 4. 72.7 GB available 5. Cable downstream/Dial-up Upstream 6. Modem is a 3Com "U.S. Robotics Cable Modem CMX" and has no other distinguishing model number or anything on it, dialer is U.S. Robotics 5686 v.92 faxmodem. Router is a Linksys WRT54G wireless router, connection I'm using is HARDWIRED into the router. UPNP able. 7. Connecting from my apartment, but the internet is dedicated to me. 8. Limewire version 4.15.3, Java version 1.6.0_02 9. RCN is my ISP. 10. http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ ---> 'Your test worked!!' 11. Cable modem goes to the above router, then to 2 hardwired PCs. 12. This is my first try with LW, I'm an experienced end-user, however. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes. 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I tried both to no avail. 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? ONLY Avast! resident scanner, v4.7.1098 16. What country are you living in? USA Ok so Limewire has NOT worked on this connection at all since the connection was established (or purchased, whatever). RCN is adamant that they do not block Gnutella networks. Whether or not they throttle, that's debatable but for now they claim they do not block traffic. I attempted to use UPNP and port forwarding, both of which did not work. I turned off all firewalls (Windows XP Bundled Firewall) and the resident virus protection which did absolutely nothing. Under bug reports I'm getting: received incoming this session: false With no firewall enabled, which means either port forwarding is failing or UPNP is failing, or both, or neither, or my Modem is blocking it. Also, it would seem that I DO NOT have a C:\Documents And Settings\Current User\.limewire directory. Couldn't find it, with hidden files/folders shown. Couldn't even point to it manually. Any suggestions? EDIT: I'm going to bypass the router and see if that fixes anything. Assume that if I didn't reply saying "it worked" that it didn't work.
