Default Solving the connection problem

For all those people who aren't getting a signal or can't connect try this and see if it works... (I have been working at this for hours and finally connected) It's just a few steps as I will explain below...

1. Per Limewire's own instructions ( User Cant Connect - LimeWire ) First start LimeWire | Tools | Options, go to the very bottom of the list to Advanced | Firewall Confi and see what number is in the "Listen on Port" box, copy this down and then go to Start | Control Panel | Security Center | Windows Firewall | Exceptions and "Add port..." Put the number you copied from Limewire in the port number box and name it whatever you want (example of name "Limewire port") in the other box and just leave the green dot on TCP.

That should be it.....start up limewire again the wall should be removed and the green bars should start filling up (it takes a sec for all the bars to go green).

Hope this helps!

the other method is to type in 6346 into the "Listen on Port" Box - click apply - click OK
why 6346 - because The Gnutella Network uses port 6346 by default.
