can't connect (Fixed) 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) XP home edition. I'm using the administrator account 2. What firewalls you have? windows firewall and McAfee 3. How much ram? 384MB 4. Hard Disk space available? 43.7 GB 5. Connection type? DSL 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? DSL router=speedstream 7. Where are you trying to connect from? home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? java= 6 update 5 and Limewire 4.16.6 pro 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? ALLTEL 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: It says your test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? IDK i'm on a home computer with no other users. the only p2p i have is limewire i think 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i've had limewire for a long time and all the sudden now it's not connecting 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?yes and i've already created an exception 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I don't know 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? McAfee.. I've already established an exception with this program 16. What country are you living in? USA okay, i've had limewire for a while and for some reason now it won't connect, i dont' know exactly when it happened or if i did something different to make it happen. I have read and read through FAQ and these post and tried everything!! it still will not connect, there is only one green bar on the connect at the bottom left. I originally had the free version, when it wouldn't connect, i downloaded the pro version and now i have spent money and still can't get the thing to connect!! i've written customer service who has written back and stated to be exact of the problem which i have. SO i'm very frustrated at this point. :mad: can some one plzzz shed some light on this matter??? |
Call your Isp and see if they are blocking you. |

Try replacing the gnutella.net file (more info here): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post298705 If that doesn't work then look into portforwarding you router |
hey it worked!!!!! i don't know which one worked. but i click the do not show tips at start up and then did what that link said about replacing the grutella folder and my connection is now SUPER STRONG!!!!!!!:xirokrotima::xirokrotima::xirokrotim a::xirokrotima::xirokrotima::xirokrotima::yahoo::y ahoo::yahoo::yahoo::super::super::super: you have just kept me from going stupid!! hahaha i've been working on this thing non stop for 10 hours now!!!!!! thank you soooooo much!! |
