 Use plain XP Firewall Stuck on "Starting Connection" Booby? Well, I installed a new full AVG 8 suite w/ firewall and could not download a lick anymore after years of successful downloads. Turned off AVG firewall, enabled the XP Pro firewall as replacement, and LimeWire 4.18 worked. After finding this gem, I only ordered the AVG withOUT the firewall for 3 other computers I support. Now all 4 run LimeWire OK. Hope you have similar luck ! ! ! ! Gotta go... got a lot of downloading to do.  |
