Default Windows? Limewire? Firewall? Connection? Or WHAT?!

Limewire stopped working for me a couple of months ago. I never had problems with it until one random morning. The program just wouldn't connect.

The globe icon is appearing in the program with a brickwall, however, I've gone into the Windows XP firewall settings and disabled it. I've also gone to the advanced settings and unchecked Limewire, including unchecking UPnP Framework.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP as my OS. I have a Cable internet connection through Charter Communications and my modem/router is a Linksys.

I have heard that some people have had problems using Limewire with Charter as their ISP, but my Limewire had always worked fine up until a couple of months ago. I've had the same ISP for a couple of years now.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thank you.

Default same problem..

its been about a month now.. but i have been having the same problem with my limewire. i even updated to pro just to see if there was something in the basic program that stopped it from working after so long. so now im out of 20.00 because its still not working. i ran that rest and it said i passed. i have deleted it.. redownloaded it. changed all my ports. turned off all firewalls... all security programs. made sure that lime wire was an exception to all security programs. i can't think of anything else to do. i love lime wire.. but this really sucks. any more suggestions???

I've been having the same problem for a while now, well over a month. It's detecting a firewall, but i took them all down and tried everything I could think of, nothing worked. I wonder how many others have this problem.... Is there anyway to fix it?? I hope someone has some answers soon

I miss LimeWire
