okay heres the deal:
ive had limewire in the past, just the basic, free limewire.
but i had to re-download it yesterday and it didnt work.
so, i re-downloaded it again today along with redownloading itunes, the whole deal.
still nothing. i try searching, it goes into the little search window and i wait..and wait...NOTHING. tried disconnecting and reconnecting. nothing. PLEASE help me.?!

Brick wall suggests a firewall. Either your software firewall (XP firewall), else your modem/router's NAT which behaves a little like a firewall.

Would be great if you could find out the brand & model number of your modem/router which is what your internet connection passes thru to your internet service provider. It's usually a small box which connects to your computer, so check where all the wires lead to your computer.

This is also happening to me. But if my internet is working everywhere else, why is it not working on just Limewire with the downloads? I'm wireless, but the modem/router is located directly next to my laptop. My light is on to idicate my wireless is connected, plus it says it's connected on my connections window. I just don't understand why limewire isn't recognizing that it's connected.

oh I finally fixed it! i ended up erasing the old limewire folders in my firewall exception lists and adding the new one :
C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe
and now it works.

I'm assuming you downloaded LW 4.18, which I did also, and connectivity vanished. Dumped it and reinstalled 4.16. Guess what? Connectivity is back and full speed. Not gonna throw rocks at 4.18, but go figure. You should always save a copy of the install file for situations like this.

Finally Fixed The Connection. Now I Have To Contact Them Cause I Have A Recit Where I Bought The Pro Version And They R Giving Me Something Else Maybe Regular.
