![]() I have xp sp2 with 2 users accounts on it, they are both admin. the first one i have no problem connecting anymore after following zap's info, however i can't get the 2nd user account to connect at all, although it all shares the same info. does any know why this might be, or do i have to do something different for this user account. i have changed ports, i have mcafee security-with it allowing both the first user port, and the 2nd user port #'s. i have also turned off the windows firewall for the 2nd user, however for the 1st user i had them both on and lw connects with no problem after i did that patch from zap's post. any insight to why i'm having this prob would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

![]() Well only one firewall should be active for any user. Windows & most other firewalls will clash, resulting in less security, not more. Also other side effects. My first thought is always to ensure each account's LW is using different connection & listening ports. Modems/routers will reserve one port per application & user on any network. So if they were at any stage using same port, try rebooting the computer. Also, go to LW's menu bar, File -> Disconnect, wait several mins, then file menu -> Connect. Also try these options: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html ![]() Disabling performance options, also OOB Searching (under Speed options) can help connect. ![]() Last edited by Lord of the Rings; August 15th, 2008 at 09:02 PM. |

![]() And No, I Am Not A Leech And Neither Are They, We Tried To Share As Much Info Thoroughout The Face Of The Planet As We All Can. AND THE FIREWALL IS ON FOR THE 2ND USER AS WELL, WITH ME ONLY RUNNING MCAFEE WITH LW 4.18.3. WHEN THE FIREWALL ICON IS THERE, IT ONLY MEANS THAT THERE IS ONE PRESENT, THAT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT YOUR FIREWALL IS BLOCKING INFO FROM COMING OR GOING. |

![]() I have a software firewall turned on & a NAT router, but I do not get a firewall icon at bottom of my LW program. ![]() Such an indicator will mean people will "struggle" to upload from you. They need to 'push' thru & only a small % (if any) will be able to do that. The firewall icon might be related to your Satellite connection. ![]() |
