Simple solution should then be to turn off your Windows firewall. Go to Control panels, double-click on Windows Firewall, check the disable box.
Then for your other firewall:
1. Check the Windows system tray (usually located in the bottom-right corner of the screen, next to the time), and locate the icon associated with your security program. Right-click the icon to enter the settings.
2. Locate a section for adding exceptions for specific programs.
3. Add LimeWire as an exception (C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe by default on most Windows systems)
* Oops perhaps I misread the posts above, I thought you were running two firewalls. Well, configure whichever one you are using to allow LW through.
Sometimes when installing a new version of LW, you need to remove the old firewall rule for LW & re-add a fresh one. For some firewalls, you also need to do this when updating the firewall software. |
