Disconnected Firewall---Still nothing!!!

I have disconnected my firewall, closed LW, Re-installed LW, and I still get stuck with "Connecting to Network". I am using a wireless adaptor for my desktop; does that make it an issue???

To my knowledge LW 5.5.16 does not work/connect these days. Unless you have a version that was hacked somehow.

Unless you disagree, may I suggest this LW 5.6.2 Pirate Edition: Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: LimeWirePirateEdition_Win.zip

(Versions of LW between 5.5.9 to 5.5.16 did not have any program improvements. All changes were in regard to auto-updating and preventing you using/connecting with the program.)

For Windows 7, you need to have the Java set to 'Run as Administrator' or else there will probably be connection problems. Search your computer for Java.exe, once you find it in search results, right-click the Java.exe in search results and choose Properties, Compatibility tab, check the option that says, 'Run this program as an Administrator' and press Apply and OK.

And use a fresh connection fix. ;) LPE ConnectFix (updated today)

If still connection problems post back.

Thank you Lord of the Rings for your help! For some reason when I search or Java.exe, it does not show up in the search results. I also downloaded the updated LPE fix, with still no connections. When I go to advanced tools there differents IP trying to connect but none connect. I am at my wits end, don't know what else to try. :sos:

Somehow I missed your response. Usually if you run the connection fix, leave it running 20-30 mins then close LW. Re-open LW leave it running up to an hour it should connect. LW might not connect upon the first run after the connectfix is used.

Sometimes there are some technical issues with the forum, apologies I did not respond earlier. :o

If all else fails, try FrostWire 4 and see if it connects: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/frostw...dows-only.html

If you do try this, let us know how it goes. And if it does not connect.
