Cheesy can't connect wahhhhhhhhhh

Hi
I still can't get connected . I am running Vista, with norton 360 and a linksys dsl modem. I have made sure that i am only running one security system. I have allowed limewire in the firewall protection, i have done an exclusion incoming and outgoing, added the listening port, enabled the Upnp thru linksys. I have read all of the forums trying to resolve my connection problem but still have a firewall symbol and can't connect. I also added gnuttella to my allow list on my firewall. I was once able to connect a month or more for one time. I am running the 4.18 version of LW i didn't like the 5.0 version. Oh ya i also uninstalled and reinstalled LW. What is my problem? I have worked on this for weeks i am so frustrated. I hope someone can help me. Thanks Bambi

Which Linksys model do you have? A range of their routers are not reliable in UPnP mode unfortunately.

When you say you added LW to the exceptions of your firewall, do you mean Norton or the windows firewall?
Are both firewalls active?
Which windows system are you running, XP, Vista, etc. ?
Which ISP are you going through?

Good to hear.

I can tell you that the linksys wrt54g & that range of routers has slightly buggy firmware. They are unreliable when used in UPnP mode, and thus are better port forwarded. Your problem might have been the UPnP failing.
UPnP is where a program with UPnP abilities is able to communicate with the router to open a port for that session.
