We don't do email replies

Looks like the UPnP options don't show in that router model with some firmware versions.
Just 2 threads I found, you can Google for more info:

Re: Trying to enable UPnP on an Actiontec GT701-WG Router - PlayStation®3 Media - PlayStation.com Forums

So assume that UPnP is already enabled in your router... did you change LW's listening port? Change listening port > click ok. Restart LW.

Before you set up port forwarding, you'll first need to set up a static IP address. Check this link for your info: PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Then the port forwarding instructions for your router are here: Port Forwarding Limewire on the Actiontec GT701-WG
LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within router configuration must all be the same number.

If you're still stuck after port forwarding, try one of those other apps & see whether you can connect.

It's always best to try the free version of a program before paying for it

Man, it's things like this a really put me down, it feels like i will never solve my problem with LimeWire. i did everything as the site said and tried to connect and it still couldn't. i just don't under stand how my computer can't connect, while my other computer can connect without any problem. the thing is my other computer is really old and is SLOW. So it takes me a more than a hour to finish what i want to do. and i also don't understand how i had to restore my computer to original settings to get Lime wire to connect again... It connected for a good month than it went back to not connecting... I dont know if its something i am doing or what.

Computer that can't connect is Vista 32x Administrator
Computer that is slow and can connect is XP 32x Administrator

D-Link router does have UPnP in the later models. My model didn't & I definitely needed to port forward it.

Both computers will need to have LW set to run on different ports to each other. A router will reserve one port per computer & application.

Also, try copying your Gnutella.net file from your XP computer across to Vista .. whilst LW is closed of course.

Hi yewtubepl0x,

Sorry that you're having so much trouble with this.

Just a couple of things - make sure that both computers aren't using the same listening port. Tools > Options > Advanced > Listening ports. If both comps have the same listening port, change one to 65000 > ok.

And while you were setting up port forwarding, did you make sure that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within router setup were all the same number? They must all be the same number.

Did you ever try deleting LW's preferences folder as I suggested in post #9? If you deleted the prefs folder properly, all of LW's options would have reverted back to default. If that doesn't happen then you know that the folder hasn't been deleted (often because LW wasn't properly closed at the time).

Hello, sorry on the late reply.
My router does have UPnP, i have it checked off. My XP computer is using UPnP, i have not changed any settings on it. My Vista computer is Portforwarded but still can't connect. LW's listening port and port forward box in router is set to the same number. <10227>. i also did delete LW's preferences folder already. I also seen ur reply on one of my replies a while ago, i really don't think alot of people use the same model of router that i am using at the moment. i also had some problems with my router before. I'm pretty sure i have the cheaper, less popular Dlink router. My english grammar might not be the best, i am learning in French.

No worries. Some words you used triggered the antispamming mechanism and made it temporarily invisible.

Try installing this older version of LW... see whether that works. Sometimes people have trouble with a particular version for unknown reasons. You'll find a link to download 5.3.6 here: Old Version of Limewire 5.3.6 Download - OldApps.com
