Have a problem with staying connected. I can get connected for a few seconds then it goes to "connecting" and then either stays like that, or tells me I have no internet connection, when I am still online, so the connection is obviously there, but for some reason Limewire is dropping it or cant see the connection.

Obviously I cant "search" either cos it does the same thing, it comes up on the tabs at the top but just keeps telling me its connecting but nothing happens

I have tried the firewall exceptions part and its not made any difference. What else can I try? I have Windows firewall off and have AVG free as the firewall. I have windows xp operating system and this is a new computer

By the way, I hate this new version and would be happy if someone can tell me how to get back to an older version

Whichever firewall you decide to use, make sure LW is listed as an exception. Setting up an exception for LimeWire in your software firewall (click in link)

If you don't like the recent version, you can downgrade; see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/340213-post427.html recommended downgrade version is LW 4.16

yes I have AVG antivirus and already added limewire as an exception but it didnt help. Maybe I will just change to an older version and see if it still happens
