Did you do as LOTR advised & only have 1 software firewall active? In other words - disable 1 firewall & make sure that the other is configured to allow LW. Even remove all LW rules from the active firewall & configure it again from scratch. Have you tried updating your Java (& removing all other versions installed, before installing the latest version)? The latest version is Java 6 update 18. From what I can see, DirecTV uses a number of internet providers (eg AT&T, Qwest, Verizon etc)... do you know which ISP is providing your service? If you're connecting from a hotel, there might be another firewall associated with the internet there. You'd need to ask one of the hotel staff about that. You're probably frustrated because LW isn't connecting. But expecting people to help when your posts are rude & snotty isn't realistic. |

You had the option to try the free version first to be sure it worked. Instead your "arrogant" attitude which shows right through this thread came into play. Don't blame anybody for your buying of it except yourself. Why buy it without trying the free basic version first? There's no major differences between the free & pro versions. Sure there's improvements but not that dramatic. We know very little about your actual connection location or devices. We struggle to assist where we can but our guess is the problem lies either with the dual firewall (McAffee can be very tricky when it comes to p2p sharing software), or with your ISP or intermediate step of a hotel or other that manages & may filter the use of p2p software on that line. Sounds like your LW was unable to even find a single connection host. That in itself suggests some kind of a blockage along the way (such as deliberate blocking of p2p software.) And btw whilst we help on these forums for free, we also have other things happening in our lives which includes work &/ family, etc. |
