![]() Hi all, After months of frustration, and missing LW, here I am finally. A few years ago, I had comcast and LW connected fine. I left comcast for free Google wifi, came back to comcast 6 months ago,(need more speed Scotty!) and LW won't connect at home via comcast, with either PC or Laptop. It will connect fine via my laptop when connected to Google wifi. I think it is a comcast issue, and/or I'm just not opening ports or allowing exceptions as comcast is blocking. What do you think/suggest? remember; I can connect fine with google wifi... 17 questions: ( will stick with the laptop to keep it simple) 1. Vista 2. Vista Windows firewall 3. 2 gig ram 4. 20-30 gigs avail 5. Cable broadband (Comcast) 6. Motorola Surfboard SBG900 7. this is at home 8. fresh LW 5.5.8, tried older versions, loaded a fresh one today, tried the gnutella file swap trick, etc etc.... 9. Comcast 10.Can't connect 11. Home network, problem regardless of connection to wireless router 12. New problem, experienced user for many years 13. always "Connecting..." (bars cleared) 14. added in Vista FW; exception for LW port 21079. In motorola Modem added and opened ports LW 21079, (as found in Vista FW) Gnutella 32295, bit torrent 6881-6889 ( as found in advance LW page). (there we already gnutella ports in modem but were diff #'s) 15. Avast! auntie virus, no firewall 16.USA= CA 17. problem occured with new comcast connection, (again, our old comcast conection allowed LW fine) note : I've tried all the fixes I've found on the web and in the forums over several months. Today I played with router settings, always pnp, tried allowing in and out, and both tcp/udp.....the only thing i did not try was to change the LW port settings to match the factory(?) listed gnutella port#. Whew... I hope someone can make sense of this... I can't believe I'm the only comcast customer with this issue, but did not find anyone else complaining about comcast in few years. Thanks so much Billy |
