v2.3.3: Downloads do not resume after crash.

I have LimeWire Pro 2.3.3 running under Linux.

I have an NEC laptop. The consequence is the Savage graphics chipset, which has a very nasty habit of locking up periodically. That's that.

I have discovered, many times over, to my chagrin, LimeWire simply fails to resume downloads.

LimeWire simply cannot resume downloads. I wind up deleting gigs of downloads (I have 700KB/s actual throughput internet connection, I download only movies with it). This is the most agravating thing I can imagine.

I wish LimeWire could reverse-construct what it needed to automatically resume these downloads. For example, it could store initial search string, the names of each of the files in the download group, and file size. It could then use this to initiate it's own search for the incomplete file.

As far as retaining the file information after a crash, it can be done. I understand it's difficult, but please fix it.

Thanks,
Torsten

i agree, it happens to me too alot
there has to be a way to backup the downloads.dat log file for when it crashes.
it always has happen to me when i run out of disk space.
but sometimes when it crashes or locks-up it doesnt delete the transfer list.

I just wrote a program that copies the download.dat file every 3 minutes.

LimeWire 2.4 saves the downloads.dat every 30 seconds.
