haunted by "ghost" files Sometimes when I'm downloading a file and it's going slowly or not finding any available hosts, I'll cancel the download, search again, and try to download again. However, sometimes when I do this the program refuses to try to download that file again, complaining that I'm still downloading it even after I've killed it. What can I do? (I'm using v2.44) |
That's a bug, but there is a simple solution: Don't cancel downloads you want to continue. Manually research for the file you want to have, instead, since any new hosts LimeWire finds while performing a search for a file, will be added automatically to the existing downloads. |
Yes, the same thing happened to me yesterday. You can do what Taliban wrote or you can close LimeWire and open it again (but you will lose all your stable connections). |
Canceling a download and exiting the application and restarting it from scratch will keep these ghost file in the download set. I surmissed there is a small bug in the download.dat update code. |
Nope, that's probably not it. I guess it's related to the GUI. Restart LimeWire, kill the download and restart LimeWire again. That should work... |
